Students world-wide participated in NASA's Cubes In Space program.   Cubes In Space is a STEM-based education program for students ages 11-14.  It provides students an opportunity to design and launch an experiment into space.  A secondary part of the competition was to design the mission patch for this year's Cubes In Space mission.

Students in Mrs. Owens’ gifted class at Prattville Intermediate School submitted designs for this mission patch competition.  Katherine Steele, a sixth grader, designed the winning patch and will have her design converted into an actual patch which will then be launched into space on June 26. After Katherine's patch is returned from space, NASA will present her with a patch to keep.  This is a huge accomplishment as this was a national competition.  We are very proud of Katherine!

Mr. Scott Striepe, NASA engineer & PHS graduate, presented Katherine with an award at Prattville Intermediate's Awards Day.
